Easy eye look using the Urban Decay Naked 1

I promissed a face of the day using the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. I chose to use this palette because I think that even if you don't own this exact palette, the shades are so easy to replace. Basically everybody has a gold, a deep brown and a black eyeshadow. So lets get started with the steps.

December Favorites

December was all about relaxing and just spending some extra time at home. The fact that the weather became significantly colder, could be the main the reason for this. I enjoyed taking long baths, doing my nails, and taking extra care of my skin.

"In between" skincare products

Today I wanted to share some thoughts of the products I like to call "in between" skin care items. These are the extras we can incorporate into our skincare routine. These products are not stend alone products, they ment to complete a routine, basically an extra skin care step if you choose to have one.

Two in one blush and illuminator: Sleek Rose Gold

I am sure you already heard about the comparison between the Sleek blush inRosegold and the Nars Orgasm blush.  I don't own the Nars one, so I can't give my thoughts on that, but I think this Sleek blush worth mentioning.

Daily makeup organization

I am a very organized person, at least I try my best to be one. So when I started working a few months ago, and I had only 10 minutes to get ready in the morning and do my makeup it was a real struggle for me to leave my makeup table clean and not in a messy state.

Thoughts on my setting powders

Using a setting powder, especially one that controls the oils break thru is a must step for me. I have combination to oily skin.Though I use foundations that are targeted for my oily skintype, that solely is not enough to get me thru a minimum of 12 hour wear of makeup, so I do need the help of setting powders.

Gym bag beauty essentials

When going to the gym you need to have some basic beauty products in your bag. And I am not talking about foundation and mascara, I am talking about the essentials that everybody needs to have in their gym bag.

With the end of November already here, I would advise everybody to start thinking about the presents they want to get for their loved ones. We tend to leave things at the last minute and then we rush getting the presents for everybody. But there is still enough time and I hope my ideas will help some of you out.

Biotin

I started using Biotin two years ago. (By using I mean that once a year I buy a jar that contains 90caps that is enough for 3 months, 1 cap per day is enough) I heard many people saying that this will help your hair grow faster and longer, it will help your nails be stronger aswell and help your skin be nicer. I heard that it even helps with eczema ( which I do have). So of course, when something promisses longer,  healthier hair, fuller eyelashes and eyebrows,  stronger nails, for a beauty addict is a must to try out.

I am not going or trying to review the features of this pochette or give a depth review about its details. I am sure there are tons of people who are better describing designer pieces, so I leave it to them. But I am going to share my thoughts and the practicality of this wonderful little pochette.

Face masks are one of those skincare products that can get really expensive, and I don't think they always worth that price tag. Of course I tried some expensive masks, like the Glamglow facemasks, and I did actually enjoy them a lot. But they were only enough for a couple of uses, so I am not sure if I will repurchase them.

The lip combo as of late

There is no doubt that I will rock this combo all fall/winter long. I am quite anxious when wearing  anything other than a nude lip, just because I feel like I should constantly check if the lipstick is still on my actual lip where it should be and not on my teeth or maybe smeared unevenly around my lip line.

Healthy glowy skin, fake lashes and matt lips

I wanted to create for today an effortless looking skin, but we alreeady know that cheating a no makeup makeup look is actually harder that we think, and it requires as much product as we would use for a usual type of look.The end result is a  perfected skin, that is looking healthy, glowy in the right areas and mattyfied where it should be. A well rested looking undereye area, of course no signs of dark circles. Cheating a big eye with some fake lashes, and matt lips to reate some balance.

That highlighting touch to your makeup

Illuminators/highlighters can change the whole makeup. Adding just this little, final touch to your makeup will glam things up a bit and you will be more likely to get some compliments. Of course, you will know why, but others will just wonder what could be your secret to that gorgeous looking makeup.

My haircare routine

I am happy with my haircare routine. I found some products that I really like, and repurchased many times so far, such as the Alterna shampoos and the Morroccanoil. HG for me.

I am only 25, so I don't really feel the need to use these types of masks, but since I had it, why not try it and write my thoughts on it. This is quite an expensive product (55£) so If you are thinking of getting it, I hope my review helps you out wether to purchase it or not.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

Funny I haven't mentioned them in a blog post earlier, because they are one of my staple beauty products. I love Batiste. I reach for it on a weekly basis,it helps getting me thru the weekdays, when I don't have time or energy to wash my hair and style it.

Kiehl's is a well know brand for their skincare products. I haven't heard one bad thing about this brand. And my review will be a positive one aswell.

 Perfumes  are the most personal beauty item we could own. The perfume that you wear, can trully define your personality and character. A musky deep scent can be worn by a strong women, a unisex perfume is perfect for the modern women, a sweet candy type of perfume is much likely to be worn by a younger person. Also fresh scents are perfect for summer, deep sweet scents for winter or evening time.

Fall makeup

Since everybody is doing some sort of fall makeup look I wanted to do one aswell. In my last post I hauled an eyeshadow pencil from Rimmel London, and after trying it I was impressed by the staying power and the creaminess of it. It is just so easy to use.

In and out beauty products| October

I am currently trying to use up all of my skincare samples so I can buy some full sized products and really have a proper skincare routine. A while back when I made a huge purchase from Spacenk I got a 25 product goodie bag that included a lot of skincare items along with makeup, and since then I have been testing them out.

Makeup when you are sick

I have been feeling sick over these past few days, so I have been staying home basically the whole day. You know that feeeling, when you are sick, you feel like doing nothing but drinking a hot tea, taking your medicine and browsing your TV or watching Youtube videos. I just descriped my last few days.

Review Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara

This mascara retails for 35£, pretty pricey if you ask me. I have. sample size, I got from SpaceNk as a gift with purchase a while back. I am not, never was, and never will be a mascara girl. I have short and stubborn lashes, and so far there are only a  couple of mascaras that I can say that I have repurchased because they really did what they promised.

I like my manicure to be simple, but still professionally looking. Despite the fact that I do my manicure twice a week, it is not something I enjoy or look forward to. It is not a relaxing thing for me, I like it to be done quickly, but good.

Budget buy | Best body scrub ever

This body scrub retails for only 3$| 2.5 €. It is the best scrub I have tried so far. It beats the Body Shop, Loccitane, Caudalie etc. body scrubs by far.

Even if my beauty items collection mostly consists of high end products, I have to admit that most of the time we only pay for the packaging, and not for their actual quality.

All time favorites

Being a makeup junkie I always buy new products, but there are some that no matter what, I always repurchase, because they are one of those tried and trusted ones, that I know they deliver, and I just can't live without them. They just have to be in my makeup collection, no matter how many similar ones I already have.
So here are my all time favorites:

Multi-usage dry oils| NUXE and Caudalie

Both the NUXE Multi-usage dry oil and the Caudalie Divine oil  are divine. They smell heavenly, they nourish and soften the skin really good. Both of these oils sink into the skin instantly after rubbing in, they are non-greasy so there will be no oily residue on the body. 

Alterna Shampoos

I haven't tried any other product from Alterna besides their shampoos. But I am really enjoying them, to say the least.

Mini products I love

Who doesn't love travel sized makeup items or skincare products? I know I get exited when I receive a gift with purchase, or buy some kits of some sample sized products, because this way I get to test out more products, to see if I like them or not.

I used up quite a lot of products in this last month, so I thought I will share them with you and write my thoughts on them, and if I will repurchase them or not.
In this post I will share my skincare items and one nail product. I will have a separate post for the makeup products.

June Favorites 2014

These products were my most used beauty items throughout the whole month.

Soft daytime smokey eye using the Naked Basics Palette

Usually I wear eyeliner all the time, but for a while now I find that I like a fresher and brighter eye look without using any liner. So most of the time I am doing just a simple eyeshadow look, using only 2 or 3 colors. Here is a soft daytime smokey eye,  using the Basics Palette from Urban Decay.

I used the shade W.O.S all over the lid, Naked 2 in the crease, Faint in the outer corner of the eye, and finally I added a bit of Crave on top of Faint to darken it slightly. I also used the color Faint on the lower lashline as an eyeliner. The mascara I used is the Sexy Pulp ultra-volume mascara from Yves Rocher, it is one of my favorite mascaras untill now. On my lips I have the Mega Shine Lip Gloss in the color Nude Pink from Nyx. I have no foundation or blush.

How to incorporate some color in your life?

Are you guilty of wearing monocromatic outfits all the time?Are you reaching for the same black or brown eyeliner every morning?Is your nailpolish collection only constists of nude shades? As summer is here, it is time for you to make some little changes, and maybe incorporate some color in your life. Here are some easy tips on how to:

1. Instead of always reaching for a black or brown eyeliner, you could opt for a navy blue one, or if you are more adventurous maybe a purple or a turqoise one. It will be a nice twist on your make up, that for sure will attract some compliments.

2. Nude nailpolish is very classic, and perfect for every outfit or event. Perfect for school or work. But let's have some fun with color. Try out some pinks, corals, or some pastel colored nailpolish. It will help accentuate your tan aswell. Opi or Essie have some really fun colors, and they have it in mini sizes aswell.

3. Incorporating color into our outfits is is the easiest to achieve with some accesories. A colored belt, or a handbag will give a summer-ish vibe to the outfits, with almost no effort. There is no need for muticolored /printed clothes to achieve some change.


Wearing colors can also change our mood aswell, we all know that different colors have different affects on us.

As you would expect from a brand like Guerlain, this palette is nothing but a gorgeous and luxurious product.

Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo-Sculpting/ Candlelight

    Whenever I hear about make-up brands like ByTerry, Hourglass, Tom Ford or Kevyn Aucoin, I  think about products that have the word *expensive* written on them. I was always thinking of ordering The Celestial Powder in Candelight, or The Sculpting Powder by Kevyn Aucoin, but I could never justify the price tag of these products, so they just ended up on my wish list. For those of us thinking about purchasing one of these famous powders, Kevyn Aucoin came up with the brilliant idea of creating a duo out of both best selling "Candelight" and "Sculpting".
